A new finance company is in town offering loans — from small personal loans to mortgages.
“Technically, we’re open now, but we are having a grand opening Monday,” said Gloria Webb, manager of Loan Central, located at 710 Park Avenue, Suite 1, in Ironton.
Webb, of South Point, has been with the company for 10 years.
The main office of Loan Central is in Gallipolis with other offices in Wheelersburg, South Point, Gallipolis, Jackson and Waverly.
“We have a wide variety of programs,” Webb said. “Sometimes, people will have bad credit and a lot of times, we can help people get a new start.”
The company also offers life and disability credit products.
“It’s optional, they don’t have to have it, ” she said. “During the beginning of the year we offer tax refund loans. We can prepare taxes and we don’t charge for that because there are fees on the loans.”
When it comes to mortgage loans, regulations have changed some since the market has dropped.
“It’s there to protect people,” Webb said.
The company will be making a donation of $100 to the domestic violence shelter in Ironton.
“We want to keep our donations local,” Webb said. “We’re hoping that a good bit of our customers in the area will come in and see our new office.”
Loan Central is a subsidiary of Ohio Valley Banc Corp. Office hours are 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdy through Friday.
“Anybody that has an account with our South Point or Wheelersburg offices that would like to transfer to Ironton because it’s more convenient for them, they just need to stop in and sign a form and we’ll take care of that for them,” Webb said.
The ribbon cutting ceremony will be at 10 a.m. Monday. The public is invited and refreshments will be served.
