Deadline moved for Festival of Trees

The deadline for designers looking to enter the Paramount Arts Center’s Christmastime Festival of Trees and Trains has been extended.

“Due to some circumstances beyond our control, it has been decided to extend the entry deadline to Oct. 3,” said Festival co-director and Ironton resident Sharon Walker. “It gives designers more time to get their applications in and more time to do their trees or other items.”

Besides the traditional big Christmas trees, entries can include centerpieces, wreaths, small trees, and more.

This year’s theme is “Lights of the World.”

“Festival of Trees and Trains has changed its application process. We’ve streamlined a lot of the process and hopefully not only made it easier, but more accessible as well. We want to get the word out to the public that this is their festival and we encourage their participation,” said Festival co-director Chrisy Reaves.

Reaves added that their goal is to make this year’s festival one of the best and literally brightest ever.

“We want to have more items for the festival than ever before,” she said.

Entry forms the Festival of Trees and Trains can be seen at www.paramountartscenter.com. If you don’t have a computer, call the Paramount Arts Center box office at (606) 324-1575.

“Just talk to whomever answers the phone and they will get a packet out to you,” Walker said.
