Fairland’s fast start keys easy win

GALLIPOLIS — This one was over almost as soon as it began.
The Fairland Lady Dragons blitzed the Ohio Valley Christian Lady Defenders 19-0 in the first quarter and rolled to a 53-25 win Monday.
Destinee Spears and MacKenzie Rucker combined for 12 points in the first quarter as Fairland jumped in front and never looked back.
Spears had 6 more points and Rucker 4 in the second quarter as Fairland built a 35-6 halftime cushion.
Spears finished with a game-high 20 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. Rucker added 8 points as Fairland improved to 2-0.
Ohio Valley Christian was paced by Andrea Van Meter with 11 points.
