Every year there are toys that kids just have to have for Christmas.
From the Cabbage Patch Kids in the 1980s to the Beanie Babies of the 1990s, there is always something on their minds as they make out their Christmas lists.
One of this year’s hottest toys, according to Toy Wishes Magazine, is Tickle Me Elmo Extreme TMX, which is exactly what Lisa Blevins of Greenup, Ky. picked up for her nine-month-old son, Carson, on Friday.
“Actually, we might want this more than he does,” she said, adding that it has been pretty easy to find the latest version of Elmo this year. “He acts kind of scared of Elmo.”
Another Carson, six-year-old Carson Hamm of Raceland, Ky, was checking out toys with his dad at the Town Center Mall. High on his list were video games and a fishing pole.
“I want a game,” he said.
“His grandfather always played PlayStation with him, so ever since he’s been four, he loves the PlayStation,” said Carson’s dad, Tracy. “He wants Crash of the Titans and Shrek the Third.”
Lisa Fannin, of Ashland, Ky., was coming out of the mall with some Christmas gifts. She has a 17-year-old boy, a 17-year-old girl and a 13-year-old girl and said it is hard to pick out gifts sometimes.
“My son wants Halo 3 and my husband wanted Call of Duty,” she said. “The girls are more into clothes and perfume. My 13-year-old wanted Guitar Hero, but I think it is just a phase.”
According to Toy Wishes Magazine other hot toys include the Nintendo Wii game console and a modernized version of Monopoly. The Here and Now version features more up to date businesses like McDonalds.
Other toys on the list include:
4Barbie and the 12 dancing Princesses.
4Digi Makeover by Radica, a plug-and-play game.
4Fly Wheels XPV by Jakks Pacific Inc, a radio-controlled vehicle.
4Kid Tough Digital Camera by Fisher-Price.
4Lego Mindstorms NXT by Lego.
4Magtastik by Mega Brands.
4Speed Stacks StackPack.
