Two men were arrested early Monday morning in connection with a break-in at Shamrock Carryout at 216 N. Second St.
Brandon Porter, 18, of 503 Township Road 343, Ironton, has been charged with breaking and entering while Joseph Leith, 19, of 1209 S. Fourth St., Ironton, was charged with complicity to breaking and entering.
Ironton Police Det. Jim Akers said officers got a call just after 4 a.m. of an alarm activation at the store. Upon arrival they found the drive-thru window had been broken.
Leith and Porter were allegedly located a short distance away in a driveway behind Save A Lot grocery store. Leith was taken to the Lawrence County Jail while Porter was taken to Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital.
“He had gotten into an altercation earlier and had a cut under his chin,” Akers said.
The two men allegedly took some cigarettes from the store.
Leith was arraigned Monday in Ironton Municipal Court. Judge O. Clark Collins set bond at $20,000 and ordered him to return to court Wednesday for a preliminary hearing. Porter is scheduled for arraignment Wednesday.
