FRANKLIN FURNACE — Now, that’s balance.

The Green Lady Bobcats had four players in double figures as they beat the East Lady Tartans 56-49 Thursday in a Southern Ohio Conference game.

Adrianna Blankenship led the quartet of scorers for Green with 16 points. She also pulled down 18 rebounds and had six steals and four assists.

Ali Thompson scored 12 points while Ashlee Runyon and Abbey Barrett scored 11 each.

Runyon also had six assists and five steals and Thompson handed out five assists.

“We shot the ball really well. Ali Thompson hit some big shots, Barrett shot well, and we created some turnovers with our defense,” said Green coach Dale Royse.

East (0-3, 0-2) took a 12-9 lead at the end of the first quarter, but Green bounced back to take a 28-19 halftime lead.

The lead went to 37-23 at the end of the third quarter and then Blankenship had 10 of her points in the fourth quarter to stop East’s comeback hopes.

“East made a run at us and Blankenship really stepped it up for us,” said Royse.

Green (2-1, 2-0) hosts New Boston at 6 p.m. Monday in a pivotal league game.
