Female Flyers turn glass cleaners in win

FIREBRICK, Ky. — The St. Joseph Female Flyers did some cleaning in preparation for the holidays.
The Female Flyers cleaned the glass with 45 rebounds as they routed Harvest Christian 63-21 Thursday.
“We controlled the boards,” said St. Joseph coach B.J. Hannon. “We did a good job on the offensive boards and got a lot of second shots.”
The Female Flyers yanked down 19 offensive rebounds in their total.
Danielle Blair had a big game for the Female Flyers with 16 points, 10 rebounds, seven assists and four steals.
Michelle Staton also turned in a strong performance with 18 points and 10 rebounds. Charleigh had scored 14 points while Katie Hacker led the Female Flyers with seven steals.
Blair scored seven points in the first quarter and the defense held Harvest Christian scoreless and it was 15-0.
Haas came back with eight points in the second quarter as St. Joseph grabbed a commanding 34-9 lead.
Staton got nine points in the third quarter as the Flyers built a 54-12 lead cushion.
The Female Flyers visit Huntington (W.Va.) St. Joseph at 5:30 p.m. Thursday.
