Mr. and Mrs. Frank McClellan of Ironton announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter Amanda Gail to Marcus Daniel Thompson. Marcus is the son of Mr. and Mrs. David Thompson of Lucasville.

Amanda is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank D. McClellan and the late Alice McClellan, and Mr. and Mrs. Jack Wade. Marcus is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Cleo Thompson, and the late Mr. and Mrs. George Leadingham.

The bride to be is a 2004 graduate of Ironton High School and a 2007 fall graduate of Ohio University with a bachelors of science in early childhood education. She is employed by the Ironton City Schools as a substitute teacher.

The groom-elect is a 2001 graduate of Valley High School and a 2003 graduate of Shawnee State University with an associates degree in applied science. He is employed at King’s Daughters Medical Center as an occupational therapy assistant.

The couple will be married July 26, 2008, at the First Tabernacle Church in Ironton.
