MINFORD — The Ironton Fighitng Tigers tennis team suffered its first loss Wednesday to the Minford Falcons.

Ironton’s doubles teams won as Lorenzo Akers and Demetrius Givens beat Logan Conkey and Sam Williams 6-0, 6-1 and Zach McCarty and Steen Sinnott downed Rusty Smith and Thad Munion by identical 6-0 scores.

Ironton lost all three singles’ matches. Austin Corneett fell 1-6, 1-6 to Tommy Hemphill, Andrew Hicks lost 1-6, 1-6 to Levi Lester, and Gage Murphy was beaten 1-6, 2-6 by John Khoury.

Ironton visits Chillicothe Thursday in a Southeastern Ohio Athletic League game.
