A Scottown man on trial for burglary decided Tuesday to halt the court proceedings against him and just plead guilty as charged.

Ryan Hannon, 26, 4059 County Road 73, will spend four years in prison for that burglary.

The Hannon trial began Monday with the prosecution offering testimony from seven witnesses. Defense testimony was to have begun Tuesday.

Hannon and a co-defendant, Jennifer Belle, 23, of 104 N. Jones St., Proctorville, were accused of breaking into an eastern end residence late last year. Belle pleaded guilty in February and was sentenced to four years in prison. At the time of her sentencing, Belle told her victims she was sorry for what she had done and they responded by giving her a Bible and telling her they would pray for her.
