Jim and Mary Russell of Ironton celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on April 5, 2008. They were united in marriage by Walter Abrams on April 5, 1958.

They are the loving parents of seven sons and three daughters-in-law, David and Edith Crown of Louisiana, Jimmy Russell, Mike Russell, Allen Russell, Darren and Lisa Russell, Lonnie and Terri Russell and Ronnie Lee Russell, all of Ironton; four daughters and sons-in-law, Patty and Ron Webb, Cheryl and Woody Brown, Lennie and Tony Jenkins and Amber and Billy Dan Cooper, all of Ironton.

They have 44 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. The couple attends Lorrain Street Gospel Mission.
