AID — Jessie Morris wasn’t a one-man wrecking crew, but you probably couldn’t convince the New Boston Lady Tigers of that.

Morris went 3-for-4 with a double, a home run and three runs batted in as the Symmes Valley Lady Vikings blitzed the New Boston Lady Tigers 12-2 Friday in a Southern Ohio Conference game.

The Lady Vikings wasted little time as they scored four runs in the first inning.

Nikki Nance walked, Erica Corn doubled, and Libby Ash walked. Emily Bowling walked to force in a run and Morris had a two-run double. Ash scored on a wild pitch.

New Boston got a run in the second inning, but Symmes Valley came back with two in its half of the frame.

Julie Carter walked, Nance singled, and both moved up on a passed ball. Carter scored on a passed ball and Ash hit a sacrifice fly.

The lead went to 10-1 in the fourth inning.

Carter walked to start the inning, Nance singled and Corn reached on an error to load the bases. Carter scored on a passed ball, Ash walked to load the bases and Bowling hit a two-run single. The final run scored on a passed ball.

New Boston scored again in the top of the sixth but Symmes Valley ended the game with two runs in the bottom of the inning.

Morris hit a solo home run to start the rally. Wall and Haily Pelletier walked, Kayla Ross hit into a fielder’s choice, and Carter singled to drive in the final run.

Corn struck out seven, walked three and gave up three hits to get the win.

Symmes Valley (8-3, 5-1) played at Gahanna Saturday and visits East on Monday.
