HAVERHILL — Welcome to the Launching Pad.

The hitter-friendly Dow Chemical Field was just that for the Portsmouth Trojans Friday as they banged out 21 hits including four home runs as they beat the Ironton Fighting Tigers 19-7 in a Southeastern Ohio Athletic League game.

“We jumped on them 5-1 in the first inning, but we just couldn’t get anybody out after that,” said Ironton coach Tobey Schreck. “Portsmouth hit the ball well.”
