Ms. Megan Lee Swartzwelder and Mr. Derek Jerome Tripp were united in marriage on Dec. 29, 2007, at Jeffersonville Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Roger Price officiating.

Ms. Swartzwelder is the daughter of Julia Cochran of Ironton, and Mr. and Mrs. Gregory &uot;Scott&uot; Swartzwelder of South Point.

Mr. Derek Tripp is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Conor Tripp of Vanceboro, N.C.

The bride was given in marriage by her father.

Matron of honor was Jill Lovejoy, friend of the bride, bridesmaids were Sarah Cochran, cousin of the bride, Deanna Tripp, sister of the groom, Nikki Hall, friend of the bride, Britney Thomas, future sister in-law of the bride. All wore matching floor length gowns in apple red.

The groom chose Robert Wyatt of New Jersey as best man.

Groomsmen were Brandon Swartzwelder, brother of the bride, Matt Zowen and Nick McKender, friends of the groom of North Carolina.

The flower girl was Emma Hall and ring bearer was Zachary Branham, brother of the bride. Guest registry attendant was Stacey Cochran, cousin of the bride.

Music was programmed by Derek Moore.

Amanda Moore, cousin of the bride, was wedding coordinator.

A reception was held at the Ashland Plaza Hotel, which catered the event.

Special entertainment was performed by Nick McKender, who impersonated Elvis Presley and Johnny Cash;

Britney Thomas, Teresa Frazer &

others.

They honeymooned in Nashville, Tenn.

Mr. Tripp graduated from Western Carolina University with a master’s degree in criminal justice and a minor in psychology.

Mr. Tripp is employed by the city of Greensboro, N.C. as

a police officer.

Mrs. Tripp is employed by Rite Aid Pharmacy and is a junior at North Carolina University as a chemistry major.

The couple reside in Kernersville, N.C.
