The Ironton Fighting Tigers tennis team beat the Raceland (Ky.) Rams Thursday 3-2 with two of the three wins coming in extra sets.

In singles’ play, Darrell Miller down the Rams Branson Bush 6-3, 2-6, 6-2, but Zach McCarty fell to Jeff Tolliver 4-6, 0-6, Steven Sinnott lost 2-6, 1-6.

In doubles play, Ironton’s Demetrius Givens (10-1) and Austin Cornett down Josh Cameron and Jacob Sparks 62-, 6-7 (7-2), 6-1.

The Fighting Tigers Andrew Hicks and Gage Murphy topped Pathorn Nantaseri and Logan Watts.

In exhibition play Michael Kennedy

and Lukus Morris defeated Zach Nickles and Jackie Phan, 4-6, 6-4 and won the match tiebreaker 7-3.
