Parade spectators shouldn#8217;t leave Ironton trashed

On Memorial Day this year I took my family to enjoy the parade in Ironton.

We sure had a good time watching all the wonderful floats and seeing the military personnel and families and friends representing lost loved ones.

I want to thank everyone that participated in the parade and also the hard work involved in preparations for the parade..

I was however deeply saddened to see all the carelessness after the parade.

My family had to walk about 4 blocks to our car after the parade wading through garbage that was left by insensitive people.

I just could not believe my eyes to see all the trash lying around the street waiting to be picked up..

Have we as Americans forgotten how to be courteous and pick up after ourselves?

What gives us the right to leave this mess behind? Let us be proud of the city of Ironton and keep it clean.

Please be courteous and clean up after yourself.

I would hope that those that left trash behind do not leave it lying around their house, like they did at the parade.
