DUBLIN — Nathan Kerns saved his best for last.

Kerns fired a 1-over par 73 Thursday in the final round of the American Junior Golf Association’s Nationwide Insurance Junior Tournament at Tartan Fields Golf Club.

The strong finish gave Kerns a final 231 score and moved him from a tie for No. 48 up 13 places to tie for No. 35.

The Ironton senior golfer shot a 74 on the first day and struggled with an 83 on Wednesday before storming back in the third round.

Ethan Tracy of Hilliard had a 208 total to win the event by nine strokes.
