Child struck by car

COAL GROVE— A Coal Grove child was injured Thursday when he was struck by a car on Memorial Street in that village.

The name of the child was not available at press time. Police Chief Jason Bloomfield said the boy was attempting to catch a church bus when he ran out into the street from between parked cars.

Bloomfield said the vehicle had just turned onto Memorial Street from High Street and was moving slowly when the accident occurred.

The child was taken to an area hospital with a bump and a laceration on his head. Information on his condition was not immediately available.

The driver of the car was not cited in connection with the accident.
