PINE GROVE — This past Tuesday morning, the meeting of the Ironton Country Club Ladies Nine Hole Golf Association began with delicious homemade breakfast treats served by Christina Ballard.

During a brief business meeting Pat Riggs announced that members could help with the committee working at the former Ro-Na theater with donations to their white elephant sale. Items could be taken to Christi Murphy or contact her for furthur information.

Mrs. Ballard then did the pairings for golf, sending members to tee off.

The group expressed its appreciation of Ed Eldridge in the pro shop for they can always rely on him to have their golf bags lined up the walkway ready for play each week. It was evident much work was going into repairing the vandalized greens by groundskeeper Cliff Jenkins and his crew.

Following golf, members enjoyed lunch while Mrs. Ballaard checked scorecards for event winners. Those winners were Doris Roberts, Georgia Willis, Kathy Fraley and Joyce Lewis.

Members then wished Betty Fraley a happy birthday.

The previous week, hostess was Jamie Dyer, who also served delicious refreshments. That week, the event winners she announced were Rose Auble, winner of two events, and Joynna Jones and Irene Howard.

The next hostess duties will be performed by Nancy Livingston. As always, new members continue to be welcomed.

Play starts at nine thirty, following the 9 a.m. meeting time.
