HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — Obviously, Nathan Kerns, Andy Holtzapfel, and Brent Morgan must like being in first place.

The local trio not only held first onto their first-place positions in the Tri-State Junior Golf Circuit standings, but they posted impressive wins Friday at Guyan Country Club to extend their leads.

Kerns shot an impressive round of 68 to win by seven strokes in the 16-18 age division.

Holtzapfel shot a 78 and won the 13-15 age group by eight strokes.

Morgan carded a 41 to earn a five-stroke win over nine holes in the 10-12 age division.

The TSJGC will conclude its tour on Monday at the Portsmouth Elks Country Club. An awards banquet will follow tournament play with the Player of the Year awards presented in each age division.

Kerns and Morgan are the defending champions in their age groups.
