PEDRO — Dean Richard Riebesehl, 76, of Pedro, died Monday, Sept. 29, 2008, at his residence.
The Holgate native was born May 21, 1932, the son of the late Ed Riebesehl Sr. and Pearl Spurgeon Riebesehl. He is survived by his wife, Betty Haskins Riebesehl, of Pedro.
He attended Napoleon City Schools in Napoleon and had lived in Lawrence County for over 40 years. He was a member of the Ironton Moose, Eagles and the VFW. He was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers, Ed Riebesehl Jr., Ernest Riebesehl, Howard Riebesehl, Melville Riebesehl, and Carry Riebesehl and five sisters, Treva Gill, Virginia Wagner, Betty Hahn, Glory Riebesehl, and Lucille Riebesehl.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Cindy and Daryl Russell, of Pedro, and Janet Balentine, of Elkhart, Ind.; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Bruce and Cindy Riebesehl, of Continental, and Eddie Riebesehl, of Ironton; two stepsons and a stepdaughter-in-law, Steve Hutchinson of Hilliard, and Tony and Debbie Hutchinson, of Jacksonville, Fla.; a stepdaughter and stepson-in-law, Linda and Jim Howard, of Ironton; four brothers, Larry Riebesehl, of Elkhart, Ind., Melvin Riebesehl of Rising Sun, Paul Riebesehl of Napoleon, and Dale Riebesehl of Defiance; a sister, Lavona Coressel, of Defiance; 15 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 1p.m. Thursday at Phillips Funeral Home with the Rev. George Cade officiating. Burial will follow in Vernon Furnace Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Daryl Russell, Bruce Riebesehl, Eddie Riebesehl, Larry Riebesehl, Dale Riebesehl, Paul Riebesehl, Aaron Potter, Melvin Riebesehl and Randy Sexton.
