It’s hard to beat any team twice, more so on their home turf. And especially if the home turf is turf.

The South Point Pointers avenged an earlier loss as they handed the St. Joseph Flyers their first loss of the season 5-0 on Tuesday.

“We just couldn’t keep possession of the ball,” said Flyers coach Dan Blair.

The Pointers had 23 shots on goal compared to only 14 for the Flyers who trailed just 1-0 at the half.

However, Flyers goalkeeper Joe “The Shoe” Unger had 17 saves.

“Joe Under made some excellent saves in the game,” said Blair.

Jordan Fletcher scored four goals and Katie Burgess added a goal and an assist to lead the Pointers.

Ronnie Lynd had two assists and Drew Lynd one.

St. Joseph (10-1-1) downed the Pointers 8-1 earlier this season.

The Flyers host New Boston Thursday.
