— Symmes Valley Freewill Baptist Church will have an auction at 11 a.m. Saturday. The event raises money for children at Christmas. There will be home interiors, home made pies, furniture, wood crafts and other items. To find the church, take State Route 141 to Symmes Valley School, take the road on the left and watch for signs.

— Lucinda Baptist Church will have its First Saturday Night service at 7 p.m. Oct. 4. Dave Schug will preach and Saved By Grace will sing. The church will also have a revival Oct. 6-11. Services are at 7 p.m. nightly. Paul Michael Booth will preach. Singers are The Windsor Choir and Quartet on Monday, The Union Choir on Tuesday, John and Debbie Cardwell on Wednesday, The Joyful Three on Thursday, Sweet Sounds of Sugar Creek on Friday and The Revelators on Saturday.

— First Southern Baptist Church will have its Operation Christmas Child shoe box stuffing 9 a.m.-noon Saturday at the church. Operation Christmas Child sends shoe boxes of Christmas gifts to children around the world as a way to spread the gospel.

— Pleasant Street Church will have a revival Oct. 26-29. Services are at 6 p.m. Sunday and at 7 p.m. the rest of the week. The evangelist is Jim Webster. There will be special singing nightly.

— The second annual fall outreach at Moulton Field will be 2-5:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 18. It is sponsored by Pleasant Street Church. There will be free food, music and other items to give away.

— The Third Annual Unity in the Community Concert and Workshop will convene at 6 p.m. nightly Friday and Saturday at the First Baptist Church of Burlington, located at 7475 County Road 1. Dr. Douglas Carter is the pastor. Rev. Lonnie Weaver and Genesis from Alabama, and Sis. Angie Richardson of Charleston, W. Va., will be the guests on Friday night. Sis. Angie Richardson will be the workshop facilitator at 10:30 a.m. Saturday. Sis. Angie Gustin, Sis. Angie Richardson and the Unity Mass Choir will perform Saturday night. — Tri County Choir will be in concert at 7 p.m. Oct. 11 at Community Baptist Church in Deering. To find the church, go through Coal Grove and travel 3.7 miles. — First Baptist Church of Sheridan will have its homecoming Sunday. Sunday school starts at 10 a.m. with worship at 11 .m. Special singing will be by Heaven’s Hope. Morning speaker will be Evan Melvin and afternoon speaker will be Billy Markins. Pastor is Todd Warner.

— Freedom Independent Baptist Church, 2541 S. 8th St., will have a homecoming at noon Sunday with a benefit songfest at 2: 30 p.m. Pastor is Joe Miller.

—Quinn Chapel AME Church, Ironton, is having a fish fry on Saturday from 11 a.m.–2 p.m.

— Community Missionary Baptist Church, 4049 State Route 243, Ironton, will have a special Sunday evening service at 7 p.m. The speaker will be Rev. Dan Whisner, from Ohio Legislative Watch. Everyone welcome. Pastor is David Lambert.

— Mamre Baptist Church will have its homecoming Sunday. Sunday School will be 10 a.m. followed by morning worship at 11 a.m. Dinner will be at noon. The special speaker will be Tim Jenkins. There will be games and other activities after dinner.

— Slab Fork United Methodist Church will have its homecoming Sunday. Services begin at 10 a.m. Dr. Wayne Young will bring the message and there will be special singing. Dinner will follow the service.
