The Ironton Fighting Tigers rolled up 491 yards on the ground and 574 total yards as they routed the Jackson Ironmen 54-6 Friday in a Southeastern Ohio Athletic League game.

Chance Freeman ran for 112 yards and caught two pass for 73 yards and two touchdowns. Fullback Erin Edens had 82 yards and a score. Quarterback Johnathon Schweickart was 4-of-8 for 83 yards.

Allen Raney blocked a punt and Jon Monnig returned it 43 yards for a touchdown. Lukas Morris had a 27-yard interception return for a score.

Jackson (5-2, 2-2) lost leading rusher Cody Huff on the first play of the game with an injury following a 24-yard gain.

Ironton is now4-3 and 2-2 in the SEOAL.

Coal Grove 22, South Point 21

COAL GROVE — Sophomore fullback Bubba Wood ran four yards for a touchdown and then bulled into the end zone for the decisive conversion as the Coal Grove Hornets edged the South Point Pointers 22-21 Friday in a pivotal Ohio Valley Conference game.

Wood took over for Frank Delawder who was injured. He ran for 80 yards to offset South Point’s Jacob Seagraves who rushed for 155 yards and a touchdown that gave his time a 21-14 lead in the fourth quarter.

Coal Grove is 4-3 and 2-0 in the OVC. South Point fell to 3-4 and 1-1.

Chesapeake 36, Rock Hill 28

PEDRO — In a game that featured more the 700 yards of total offense, the Chesapeake Panthers outlasted the Rock Hill Redmen 36-28 in an OVC game.

Chesapeake (3-4, 1-1) had 406 total yards as quarterback Aaron Donahoe returned to the lineup and ran for 85 yards and threw for 108 yards. Alex Wells rushed for 94 yards and two touchdowns while Zach Harris scored on a blocked punt return.

Corey Bamer ran for 125 yards and quarterback Will McCollister threw for 196 yards for the Redmen (0-7, 0-2). Mitchell Davenport had 11 catches for 160 yards and two TDs.

Fairland 69, River Valley 34

CHESHIRE — The Fairland Dragons amassed 645 total yards as they routed the River Valley Raiders 69-34 Friday in an Ohio Valley Conference game.

Matt Bloomfield ran 11 times for 199 yards and three touchdowns while quarterback Cole Hatfield threw for 172 yards and three scores.

Quarterback Clayton Curnutte was 15-of-35 passing for 365 yards and four touchdowns to lead River Valley (2-5, 0-2).

Fairland (2-4, 2-0) led 28-6 at the end of the first quarter and 42-12 at the half.

Sciotoville East 34, Symmes Valley 8

SCIOTOVILLE — The Symmes Valley Vikings were plagued by four turnovers and the East Tartans were able to convert on third and four down plays as they post a 34-8 Southern Ohio Conference game Friday.

The Vikings (4-3, 1-1) had the ball inside the 20-yard line five times but were unable to convert due to three interceptions an d a fumble.

East (6-1, 2-0) was led by Nathan Hood who was 8-of-13 for 143 yards.

South Gallia 12, Green 8

CROWN CITY — Austin Phillips 14-yard scoring run with 9:27 to play lifted the South Gallia Rebels over the Green Bobcats 12-8 Friday in a non-league game.

Billy Moore, who ran for 66 yards, scored on a 7-yard run in the first quarter for Green (2-4). The Bobcats also registered a safety to take an 8-0 lead before South Gallia got a 97-yard run by Bryce Clary with 1:37 left in the first half.
