Matt Bloomfield ran 11 times for 199 yards and three touchdowns while quarterback Cole Hatfield threw for 172 yards and three scores.

“We played pretty well. Other than our secondary play, I couldn’t ask for better play. We were hitting people. Our line protected well and created some big holes. We had seven different people score,” said Snyder.

The Fairland secondary was roughed up by Raiders’ quarterback Clayton Curnutte who completed 15-of-35 passes for 365 yards and four touchdowns.

Bloomfield staked Fairland (2-4, 2-0) to a 14-0 lead as he bolted 55 and 54 yards for first quarter touchdowns.

Nate Burcham was 9-for-9 on conversion kicks.

The lead went to 21-0 on a 51-yard bomb from Hatfield to Aaron Ward.

River Valley (2-5, 0-2) showed it could get the long score when Curnutte teamed up with Cody Johnson on an 83-yard touchdown pass.

But the Dragons answered as Bloomfield scored on a 2-yard run and it was 28-6 at the end of the quarter.

Chad Fisher ran 25yards for a touchdown and Blayne Cornwell galloped 21 yards for a score and Fairland led 42-6.

Curnutte and Johnson hooked up on a 9-yard scoringn pass just before the half and it was 42-12.

“They’re believing in themselves now. We just have to keep that going. The second half of the Tolsia game made us a football team. We stayed after people and we were short-handed. We knew we could compete,” said Snyder.

Hatfield threw a 35-yard TD pass to Fisher and ran one-yard for another score in the third quarter.

The Raiders kept pace as Curnutte had touchdown passes covering 53 yards to Jacob Brown and 67 yards to Jordan Deel.

Fairland put the game out of reach on a 65-yard scoring pass to Kyle Lawhorn and a 6-yard touchdown run by Eric Riley with just under six minutes to play.
