FLATWOODS, Ky. — Irene Burgess Dheel, 92, of Flatwoods, died Sunday, Oct. 12, 2008, at Community Hospice Center. She was the widow of John Albert Dheel. She was born Aug. 4, 1916, in Greenup County, Ky., a daughter of the late Charles Harrison and Julia Ann Hart Burgess. She was a cafeteria employee at Oakview and Holy Family schools and a member of the First Church of the Nazarene.
She was also preceded in death by granddaughter, Tiffany Brown; son-in-law, William Bogantz; six sisters, Emmy, Pearl, Anna, Goldie, Jesse and Lorene; and four brothers, John, Calvin, Edgar and Harry.
Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Charles (Norma) Dheel of Fraziers Bottom, W.Va., and Donald (Brenda) Dheel of Deerfield, Mich.; two daughters, Mary Bogantz of Chesterville, and Cecilia Brown of Ashland; nine grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandson.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. today at Grace Church of the Nazarene by the Rev. Richard Suman and the Rev. Roger Bonzo. Burial will be in Kirby Flats Cemetery.
There is no visitation.
