COLUMBUS, Miss. — Philip Allen Wilson, Sr., 46, of Columbus, Miss., died Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2008, at Baptist Memorial Hospital – GT in Columbus, Miss.
He was born Dec. 29, 1961, in Ironton, Ohio, a son of Chester Lewis Wilson and Joyce Pohlman Ruggles.
After serving in the U.S. Air Force, he was employed by T-Square at Columbus Air Force Base as a leadman with 26 years of service.
He is survived by his father, Chester Wilson, of Franklin Furnace, Ohio; his mother, Joy Ruggles, of Lucasville, Ohio; his stepmother, Sharon Wilson, of Franklin Furnace; a son, Philip Allen Wilson, Jr., of Jacksonville, Fla.; a daughter, Anna Virginia Wilson, of Atlanta, Ga., and their mother, Sheron Dunn, of Jackson, Tenn.; a brother, Scott Allen Wilson, of Kansas City, Mo., and a granddaughter.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Columbus, Miss., with the Rev. James Carlyle officiating. Interment will be in Houston Cemetery, Houston, Miss. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, Miss. Pallbearers will be Nick Scruggs, Charles Smith, Tommy Pate, Bill Brooks, Drew Hitt, Dennis Irwin, and John Ellis Hendrix. Honorary Pallbearers will be Dr. John Whitecar and staff; Dr. Robert H.
