Nola Katherine (Poodie) Weber, 78, of Ironton, passed away Friday, Oct. 24, 2008, at Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital in Russell, Ky. The Lawrence County, Ohio native was born Nov. 14, 1929, the daughter of the late Nelson and Zelma Littlejohn McGhee. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years and five months, Ray Weber, whom she married Sept. 9, 1947.
Mrs. Weber was a 1947 graduate of Ironton High School and spent her entire life in Ironton. She was a former switchboard operator for Lawrence County General Hospital, a receptionist for Dr. Stuart Light and a teller for 1st National Bank. She was a devout Catholic and attended St. Joseph Church.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by a brother, Jack McGhee.
She is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Jo Weber of Ironton; daughter and son-in-law, Diane and Alvie Allen of Ironton; granddaughter, Viki Freeman and her husband, David of Ironton;
granddaughters, Lori Leach and Kim Weber, both of Ironton; grandson, T.J. Weber and his wife, Carissa of Ironton; grandson, Bobby Taylor and his wife, Ashley of Clearwater, Fla.; five great grandchildren: J.D. Leach, Jordan Leach, Charli Leach, Zach Freeman and Emily Weber; and a sister and brother-in-law, Lelia and Noah Gambill of Ironton.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2008, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with Father David Huffman and Father Tim Kozak officiating. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
