Ashland, Ky. – Free flu shots will be offered Friday at Belk by the Health Connections team of King’s Daughters Medical Center (KDMC).

The clinic will be offered 10 a.m. until noon, or until the vaccine is depleted. Those interested should check in at the Belk Service Center. No appointment necessary.

The flu shot provides protection against strains of the flu virus based on scientists’ predictions about what strains will be most common that year, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). About two weeks after getting a flu shot, the body produces antibodies that protect against the flu.
