The anniversary celebration of Dr. Douglas Carter’s pastorate at First Baptist Church of Burlington begins with a reception for Carter’s wife, Barbara, on Friday.

The event starts at 7 p.m. with Sister Josette Hill of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church in Huntington, W.Va., as guest speaker. Then the celebration continues on Sunday with the Rev. Herman James, associate pastor of Levi First Missionary Baptist at Rand, W.Va., at 11 a.m. Sunday.

The afternoon service starts at 3 p.m. with the Rev. Roy Terry, pastor of Sixteenth Street Baptist Church at Huntington, W.Va. Everyone is welcome.
