PINE GROVE — Martha Monnig, 85, of Pine Grove, died Thursday, Nov. 20, 2008, at Community Hospice Care Center.
She was born Aug. 28 1923, in Scioto County, the daughter of the late John and Nora Frische Sherman.
She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Pine Grove and was a member of the C.W.C. She was a homemaker and the widow of Otto Monnig. Also preceding her was one brother, George Sherman.
Survivors include four daughters and sons-in-law, Mrs. Bernard (Kathy) Conway of Ironton, Mary and Steve Kline of Bidwell, Barbara and Ted Cheek of Franklin Furnace, and Libby and Keith Whitt of Ironton; three sons and daughters-in-law, Mark and Patricia Monnig of Ironton, Joe and Kim Monnig of Pedro, and Chris and Mary Pat Monnig of Ironton; one brother, John Sherman of Wheelersburg; one sister, Gertrude Sherman of Wheelersburg; 16 grandchildren and seven great grand children.
Mass of Christian burial will be 11 a.m. Monday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with the Revs. Tim Kozak and David Huffman officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-9 p.m. with the Rosary Service at 8:30 p.m. today at O’Keefe Baker Funeral Home.
