The Green Lady Bobcats got a math lesson in fractions.
When you added two and one-half with one and one-half, you get four full quarters.
The Lady Bobcats held the lead after two and one-half quarters before the New Boston Lady Tigers rallied to take a52-33 Southern Ohio Conference win Monday.
“We played two and a half quarters and had the lead. We handled their press and played well, but the bottom line is you have to be leading when the game is over,” said Green coach Dale Royse.
Green jumped out to a 9-0 lead before New Boston rallied to tie the game at the end of the first quarter.
The Lady Bobcats were up 21-19 at the half and continued to lead into the third quarter before New Boston made its move and went in front 35-26 at the end of the quarter.
“I think we just stopped running our offense. We kind of got away from what we were doing,” said Royse.
Adrianne Blankenship scored 13 points and had 11 rebounds and six steals to pace Green (3-1, 2-1).
Kayla Wiley scored a game-high 21 points for New Boston.
