Everything was working for the Symmes Valley Vikings in the first half.
Then came the second half.
Everything that went right in the first half vanished in the third quarter as the Oak Hill Oaks dominated in the second half to post a 75-48 win Tuesday.
The Oaks led just 14-11 at the end of the first quarter. J.D. Hale got eight points in the second quarter to offset six points by the Vikings’ Josh Craft as the lead went to 34-27 at the break.
But Oak Hill outscored the Vikings 20-4 in the third quarter and never looked back. Hale scored 10 more points in the fourth quarter as the Oaks continued to pull away.
Kris Tibbs had seven points in the fourth quarter for Symmes Valley.
Hale finished with 25 points. Ryan Borden scored 14, Ondera 11 and Jesse Slone added 10 for the Oaks.
“Hale was just too big for us. They just wore us down,” said Carpenter.
Craft led the Vikings with 14 points while Tibbs had 10 points and 10 rebounds.
