When it comes to boy bands, the Green Lady Bobcats have their favorite: N’Sync.

By staying “N’Sync” the Lady Bobcats were able to beat the Symmes Valley Lady Vikings 59-44 Monday in a Southern Ohio Conference Division I game.

“We got off to a pretty good start. (Symmes Valley) battled back in the second quarter and we got a little out of sync, but we got back on in sync and came back and played well in the second half,” said Green coach Dale Royse.

Ashlee Runyon hit a pair of trifectas in the first quarter as Green got off to a fast start and led 22-9.

But after trailing by as many as 14 points, Symmes Valley bounced back and closed to within 29-25 at the break.

“We gave a really good defensive effort tonight, but offensively we could not put the ball in the hole,” said Lady Vikings coach Lisa Bryant.

“Erica Corn was out with a stomach virus and we had a couple of kids playing a little under the weather, but we played hard and never quit.”

Green began to pull away again in the second half as Lauren Jones scored 10 of her 14 points.

Adrianne Blankenship was 6-of-6 from the line down the stretch and the Lady Bobcats hit eight overall in the quarter.

Nikki Nance scored all seven of her points in the fourth quarter for the Lady Vikings who managed just 11 in the quarter.

“We cut it to two points and that is as close as we could get. The ice storm hit in the fourth quarter and we could not buy a basket,” said Bryant.

Blankenship finished with 20 points and 15 rebounds as Green improved to 4-2 and 3-1 in the SOC. Runyon and Abbey Barrett scored 11 each.

“Winning on the road is tough to do in the SOC. I was glad to see we had some scoring balance,” said Royse. “It’s a really tough place to play and it was very physical game.”

Jessie Morris led the Lady Vikings with 15 points, six rebounds and four steals. Brooke Skinner added 11points and five steals while Haily Pelletier pulled down 13 rebounds.
