COY BACON

Mr. Coy Bacon, 65, of Ironton, died on Monday, Dec. 22, 2008, at his residence.
He was born Aug. 30, 1943, in Cadiz, Ky., the son of the late Bennie Bacon and Susie Mae Thomas Echols.
He was a retired National Football League player with the L.A. Rams, the San Diego Chargers, Cincinnati Bengals, Washington Redskins, and spent one year in the USFL. He also was retired from the Ohio River Valley Youth Center. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Burlington and was a speaker for Christ to help youth in drug prevention in the Tri-State area.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepfather, Emmitt Echols; a brother, Howard Winston Bacon and a stepbrother, Donald Echols.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia A. Bacon of Ironton, one daughter, Chanda Bacon Grambling of Mt. Holly, N. C.; two sons, Coy Tyronne Bacon of Seattle, Wash., and William L. Anderson Bacon of Camarillo, Calif.; four grandchildren; and two brothers, W. J. Bacon of Ironton, and John Bacon of Louisville, Ky.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 30, at the First Baptist Church of Burlington, 7475 Co. Rd. 1, with the Rev. Dr. Douglas C. Carter officiating. Interment will follow in Woodland Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-9 p.m. Monday at the Tracy Brammer Funeral Home, Ironton, and one hour prior to services Tuesday at the church.
