SOUTH POINT — George E. Myers, 72, of South Point, died Saturday, Dec. 27, 2008, at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, Ky.
He was born Jan. 30, 1936 in Rock Camp, a son of the late Fred and Martha Cochran Myers. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran and was a retired manager of the meat dept. for the A&P Supermarket.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by Garnet, Jack L., and John Myers and two sisters, Irene Perry and Edna Rouse.
He was the husband of Daphna Unrue Myers, who survives. He is also survived by a son, Jack Edward Myers of Dracut, Mass.; a brother, Fred Myers, of Flatwoods, Ky.; and two sisters, Katherine Huff of Ironton and Ruby Sauter of Florence, Ore.
Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Woodland Cemetery with Bro. Kenny Hurst officiating. Military graveside rites will be conducted by VFW 8850. Visitation will be one hour prior to services Wednesday at Tracy Brammer Funeral Home.
