OUS plans trip to Warhol exhibit

IRONTON — Ohio University Southern will sponsor an Education On Location art and history themed one day educational field study excursion to Columbus.

The trip will be Friday, Feb. 13. Cost of the trip is $40 per person and includes round trip transportation from Ironton, and admission and self-guided tour of the Andy Warhol exhibit at the Ohio State University Wexner Center for the Arts.

The trip will also feature a self-guided tour of the Columbus Museum of Art, which has an outstanding collection of period art from the Renaissance through the twentieth century, and a guided tour of the Ohio Statehouse.

The trip is available for one credit in both art history and travel and tourism.

Art gallery opens ‘Pots and Pictures’

The Ohio University Southern Art Gallery will open the new year with a guest faculty exhibition of photography and ceramics titled “Pots and Pictures” by Dennis Deane, Professor of Art at Ohio University Chillicothe. The opening reception is this Thursday, January 8, at 6 p.m. in the Dingus Center, and the artist will be present.

The reception is free and open to the public, and refreshments will be served.
