Flyers can’t overcome Rams’ free throws

If it’s free, try and take as much as you can. That’s what the Raceland Rams did.

Raceland (Ky.) used a strong effort at the free throw line to beat the St. Joseph Flyers 64-54 Friday.

Each team had 22 field goals and the Flyers’ Chad Harvey had the game’s only 3-pointer. The different was at the foul line where the Rames were 20-of-34 and the Flyers just 9-of-18.

Harvey led St. Joseph with 25 points. Caleb Blackburn was next with eight points.

Cody Barker scored 27 and Jeremy Barr 17 for Raceland (5-8).

The Flyers (4-5) were up 27-20 at the half but struggled in the third quarter as they scored just nine points and fell behind 39-36.

Raceland used their foul shooting to outscore the Flyers 25-18 in the fourth quarter.

The Flyers played at Green Saturday.
