Helen Lovina Boyer, 88, of Ironton, died Thursday, Jan. 8, 2009, at Jo Lin Health Care Center. The Lima native was born June 30, 1920, the daughter of the late Walter Griffith Taylor and Iva Jane Harrison Taylor. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Walter Boyer, who died March 1976.
Mrs. Boyer attended Ironton Schools, was a member of Zoar Missionary Baptist Church and a homemaker.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by a son, William Walter Boyer Jr.; an infant son; a grandson, Leslie Dean Carpenter; and a sister, Ruby Ethel Nash.
She is survived by four daughters and three sons-in-law, Jeannette Carpenter of Jackson, Mich., Marilyn and John Wintle of Dorset, Karen and Paul Harrison of Clinton, Tenn., and Kathi and Faron Lawless of Ironton; a son and daughter-in-law, Dale and Susan Boyer of Ligonier, Ind.; 17 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
