PEDRO — Gary Lee Hosey, 71, Pedro, passed away Saturday, Jan. 10, 2009, at his residence.
The Marion native was born March 19, 1937, the son of the late Woodrow and Leona Tharp Hosey.
Mr. Hosey was a 1955 graduate of Rock Hill High School. He served in the United States Navy and was a Korean War veteran. He worked at the Dayton Malleable where he retired in 1980. He was a member of United Commercial Travelers and AMVETS.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three children, Kimberlee Gail Hosey, Gary Lee Hosey Jr., and Lisa Lee Hosey; five brothers, Woodrow Hosey, Richard Hosey, William Hosey, Ronald Hosey, and Donald Hosey and a sister, JoVonna Hosey.
He is survived by his wife, Brenda Derifield Hosey, whom he married Jan. 30, 1960; a son, Jason Hosey of Pedro; his grandchildren, Garrett Lee Hosey and Abigail Lynn Hosey; a brother, Timothy Hosey of Wheelersburg; a sister and brother-in-law, Jo Ann and Edward Hileman of Wheelersburg; a sister and brother-in-law, Melody and Edward Knapp of Pedro; a sister-in-law, Linda Meeks of Kitts Hill; a brother-in-law, Michael Derifield of Valdez, Alaska and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday in Pine Grove Cemetery with the Rev. James Cremeans officiating. Military rites will be conducted by the V.F.W. Post 8850.
