The Coal Grove Lady Hornets took advantage of their chances.

All 16 Lady Hornets played and 13 scored in a 76-24 win over the Rock Hill Redwomen in an Ohio Valley Conference game Monday.

‘We were glad to get all our girls a chance to play at the varsity level and most of them scored,” said Lady Hornets’ coach Nick Miller.

‘Rock Hill came out and played really hard. We didn’t want their shooters to get good looks.”

Jordyn Cox and Chelsea Delong scored 15 points each for the Lady Hornets who improved to 8-2 overall and 3-0 in the OVC.

They play at South Point Thursday in a showdown for first place.

Brittany Thompson scored nine and Courtney Duncan seven to pace the Redwomen.

Kellie McMackin had five points in the first quarter as Coal Grove jumped out to a 16-4 lead.

Delong scored nine and Cox eight in the second quarter as the Lady Hornets built a 40-9 halftime cushion.

Coal Grove had balanced scoring in the third quarter while Duncan had five for the Redwomen.

Hope Ratcliff came off the bench to score eight points for the Lady Hornets in the fourth quarter.
