Monday’s Game

St. Joseph 36,

Hannan, W.Va. 33

“Concentration” isn’t just a board game by Milton-Bradley.

The St. Joseph Female Flyers were missing that concentration last Monday but they managed to come away with a 36-33 win over the Hannan (W.Va.) Lady Wildcats.

The Female Flyers were just 14-of-38 from the foul line as they picked up their fourth win of the season.

“We weren’t ready to play and it showed in our concentration,” said Female Flyers coach B.J. Hannon. “A lot of foul shooting is just concentration.”

Hannan took a 10-5 lead at the end of the first quarter.

Michelle Staton scored seven points in the second quarter as the Flyers remained behind by five points at the half, 20-15.

Katie Hacker had eight points in the third quarter and the defense held Hannan to five points as the Female Flyers took a 29-25 lead.

Hacker had five of St. Joseph’s seven points in the fourth quarter as they held on for the win.

Hacker finished with 16 points and 13 rebounds. Staton had 15 points and five rebounds.
