Reds caravan visits Tri-State area today

The 2009 Cincinnati Reds’ Winter Caravan will kick off today from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Fannin Motors on State Route 60 in Ashland, Ky.

The Reds Southern Tour will also stop in Charleston, W.Va., from 3:15 to 4:45 at the Towne Center Mall.

The stops are open to the public and free of charge. At each public stop the Reds will raffle off two tickets to the Opening Day game against the New York Mets on April 6.

The Southern Tour makes stops in West Virginia, Kentucky and Tennessee and includes Hall of Fame broadcaster Marty Brennaman, Gold Glove-winning second-baseman Brandon Phillips, television broadcaster Chris Welsh, 2007 number one draft pick Devin Mesoraco, Reds’ Hall of Famer Lee May, vice president and assistant general manager Bob Miller, senior special assistant to the general manager Gene Bennett and Reds mascot Gapper.
