Bradburn, SP girls top Raiders

The River Valley Lady Raiders got a bad burn from Bradburn.

South Point’s Jalynn Bradburn scored 32 points as the Lady Pointers scorched River Valley 67-47 Thursday in a battle for first place in the Ohio Valley Conference.

Bradburn scored a career-high 32 points as South Point improved to 11-1 overall and remained unbeaten in the OVC at 5-0.

River Valley fell to 8-5 on the season and 3-1 in the league.

The Lady Raiders took a 10-2 lead to start the game only to have South Point put together an 8-0 run and took its first lead of the game with 2:29 on the clock.

River Valley went back on top, but South Point used a 9-4 spurt to lead 20-14.

The Lady Pointers were up 35-21 in the second quarter and then scored the last seven points of the half including a 3-pointer by Bradburn at the buzzer to go up 42-23 at the break.

Bradburn scored 24 of her points in the first half.

South Point went in front 52-29 at the end of the third quarter and pushed the lead to as many as 29 in the fourth quarter before River Valley whittled the lead to 20 with less than a minute to play.

Besides Bradburn, Tinesha Taylor had 15 points for South Point. Kayla Fletcher triggered the fast-break offense with 13 steals.

Molly Ruff had 11 poits and Iliana Corfias 10 for River Valley.
