The Green Lady Bobcats know how to stay on task.

Green used a relentless defense the entire game as they beat the Portsmouth Notre Dame Lady Titans 54-32 Thursday in a Southern Ohio Conference game.

“Defensively we came out and played well. We were very active and what impressed me is we did it all the way through the game. We never let up,” said Green coach Dale Royse.

Ashlee Runyon had eight of her 10 points in the first quarter as Green jumped out to an 18-8 lead.

Green’s scoring slowed in the second quarter but the defense held Notre Dame to four points and the lead was 27-12 at the half.

Lauren Jones scored 10 of her 11 points in the second half including eight in the third quarter when Green built a 44-20 cushion.

Adrianne Blankenship led Green with 15 points, 17 rebounds, four assists and three steals.

Abbey Barrett had a solid game with 14 points including 8-of-8 from the foul line. Jones had 10 rebounds to go with her 11 points and Runyon added four assists.
