A Kitts Hill man arrested Friday in connection with a kiddie porn download was arraigned Monday afternoon in Ironton Municipal Court.
James E. Terry, 22, of 2530 County Road 5, is charged with one count of pandering sexually oriented matter involving a minor. Judge O. Clark Collins set a $25,000 cash bond and appointed Derick Fisher as Terry’s attorney. Terry must return to court Thursday for a preliminary hearing.
Terry’s arrest came after Ohio University police alerted the Lawrence County Sheriff’s office that someone was downloading offensive material on or near the Ohio University Southern campus.
Authorities suspect Terry, who was once a student at OUS, kept the necessary Internet pass codes and was using them to log onto the university’s Internet from his personal laptop while parked on or near campus.
Deputies searched Terry’s residence Friday. Sheriff Jeff Lawless said at that time, Terry confessed to the allegations.
Terry remains in the Lawrence County Jail.
