OLBH’s Talking Heart to Heart Event Feb. 24

As part of February’s American Heart Month, officials with Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital (OLBH) announced the hospital will host Talking Heart to Heart, Tuesday, Feb. 24 beginning at 5 p.m. at Bellefonte Pavilion on the OLBH campus.

The free event is in recognition of the American Heart Association’s national Go Red for Women campaign.

The women’s health event is a free educational opportunity with the following schedule:

5 p.m. – Registration, hors d’oeuvres

5:30 p.m. – Topic: Breast Health; Speaker: Margaret Ward, nurse practitioner

5:45 p.m. – Topic: Diabetes and Heart Diseases; Speaker: David Bush, M.D.

6:15 p.m. – Topic: Women’s Heart Health; Speaker: Michele Friday, M.D.

The event will conclude with a question and answer session featuring cardiologists Charles Rhodes, M.D., Yogendra Prasad, M.D., Bush, Friday and nurse practitioners Ward and Shirley Stanley. Door prizes will be awarded at the event.

“OLBH’s Go Red for Women events have always been met with great enthusiasm from the community,” Jeani Thomas, OLBH Women’s Service Line Leader, said. “Hundreds of area women have attended our Go Red offerings throughout the years and we expect this event to live up to the high standards that have come to be expected. The ladies who attend this event are not just benefiting themselves, but are standing up to support the cause of women’s health care.”
