Geoff White may not be much of a gambler, but he’s looking forward to taking a chance.
The 6-foot-2, 270-pound White will take his chances where there are better chances after signing to play football at Kentucky Christian University.
“They have one tackle returning and they’re thin on the defensive line, so I have a chance to play,” said White who was a two-year starter for the Fighting Tigers who finished 8-4 this past season including a berth in the Division IV playoffs.
“They’re young. They’re freshmen and sophomores, but they could be good. They got some experience last year.”
White also entertained offers from Tiffin and Otterbein, but he said Kentucky Christian offered more scholarship money and a better chance to play.
“I have a chance to play right away, but I’m going to have to work for it. They’re not going to hand it to me,” said White.
Although White is anxious to play college football, he knows he has to step up his game at the next level.
“College is everything like high school only tougher. I’m looking forward to the challenge,” said White.
“I have to hit the weight room harder and work harder than I did in high school.”
Geoff is the son of Jessica White and Tim McMillan and the grandson of Gordon and Rosalie White of Ironton.
