KITTS HILL — Melvina McClary, 62, of Kitts Hill, formerly of Springfield, passed from this life Sunday, Feb. 15, 2009, from the Community Hospice House in Ashland, Ky.
Melvina was born Aug. 13, 1946, in Springfield, a daughter of the late Leonard and Lula Thomas Haley. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter Brandi Larsen.
She is survived by her husband, Gray McClary; two sons, Lenny (Debra) and Gray (Penny) McClary, all of South Point; a daughter Linda (Dwayne) Wells, of South Point; her grandchildren, Garrett, Coal, and Miranda Wells, Devan Trent, Graycie and Gray McClary; a brother, Ben (Dora) Haley; her sisters, Rosa (Dan) Tutle, and Glenda (Bob) Hawkins; a special cousin, Mary Parsons; nieces and nephews, Byron and Benji Haley, Lea and Steve Short, and Kendra Tutle.
A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Schneider-Griffin Funeral Home, Chesapeake, with Pastor Ken Carter officiating. The body is donated to Marshall University. Friends may call from 10-11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Condolences may be expressed at www.schneidergriffin.com.
