Third and Park to be four-way stop

The intersection of Third Street and Park Avenue in Ironton will temporarily become a four-way stop, starting today.
The stop was currently a caution for motorists traveling north and south on Park and a stop light for those traveling on Third.
However, a problem with the controller will require a repair that may take several week, said Mike Pemberton, the city’s street, sanitation and floodwall superintendent.
Pemberton said the city will change the lights to red and put up the stop signs.
“Think it will be safer,” he said. “There have been so really close calls there.”
